Frequently Asked Questions

What is Psychotherapy?

Much like counselling, psychotherapy is an enriched journey between a professional therapist and an individual dealing with a wide array of emotional difficulties or a desire to make improvements in their life. Psychotherapy is essentially talk therapy, however with deeper emotional connection, an exploration of thoughts, beliefs and feelings as well as the implementation of adaptive coping strategies to effectively deal with life's stressors.

Are your services covered by OHIP?

Unfortunately, psychotherapists or psychologists are not covered by OHIP or any government agency. Rather, our services are largely covered by most insurance providers or work-place benefits. Please check your insurance policy for more details on your coverage. At our clinic, payments are rendered at the time of service and an invoice is issued for your insurance claim.

Do I need a doctor's referral?

Nope! You may call, text or email us at anytime to book an appointment. We return all online inquiries or telephone calls within 24 hours. There is no wait list! Bookings are completed immediately!

How do I know if I need therapy?

A reason to start a therapeutic journey is personal and varies on a case-by-case basis. Many times, people enter therapy when they feel an immense amount of stress in their individual lives, relationships or families as well as in work or other institutions. Other reasons may include an inability to effectively overcome trauma from unpleasant memories in your past. If you are experiencing any distress, periods of unhappiness or dissatisfaction in any area of your life, please feel free to reach out to a professional for more insight and guidance into your situation.
