HANNAH STEYAERT

Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying)

For as long as I can remember I have been someone that people come to when they are feeling down, are in a tough situation, or need someone to listen to them. I always loved being an open, empathetic listener and was so honoured that people trusted me and felt comfortable coming and talk to me when they needed someone. This developed into a desire to help others and to be there for others in times of need. This desire holds true today and has influenced my career path into becoming a psychotherapist.

In my career, I have been given the opportunity to learn and grow from my clients as they courageously share their stories, vulnerabilities, challenges, and triumphs. I enjoy working alongside my clients and witnessing firsthand their growth and resiliency as they work through their current struggles and past experiences

I am a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario (#10073). I earned my Bachelor of Psychology degree at Brock University in 2018 and my Master of Counselling Psychology degree at Yorkville University in 2021.

I have experience assisting clients with anxiety, depression, grief, relationship issues, separation or divorce, historical abuse/trauma, interpersonal/family conflict, self-esteem and/or confidence issues, job loss, and significant life changes.

I am a kind, compassionate, and open-minded therapist who focuses on building rapport and a therapeutic relationship, with an emphasis on clients’ strengths and unique circumstances. I use an integrative approach where clients are supported utilizing various therapeutic modalities to meet their distinct needs in a safe and non-judgmental environment. I utilize psychodynamic therapy, cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), narrative therapy and mindfulness-based therapy in my work with clients. I welcome clients from all backgrounds and stages of life.
